The Carmen Herrera Foundation was established and endowed by the artist during her lifetime and became active in 2024. The foundation seeks to preserve and enhance the appreciation of her legacy as a pioneer of geometric abstraction and minimalism, as well as her lifelong commitment to art. To ensure the stewardship of Herrera’s works, archives, and intellectual contributions, the foundation will foster exhibitions, scholarship, and publications, including a catalogue raisonné. By amplifying her vision and influence, the foundation furthers the values of Herrera’s life — innovation and perseverance — to inspire future generations of artists.
